My gaming buddy and I got together yesterday and played this Intermediate scenario. I played as the Germans and Greg was the 82nd Airborne. Greg deployed
his independent AT gun, road blocks and artillery close to the entrance hex for my main kampfgruppes and really gave me a hard time of it. The direct fire
zones of these units meant that I was only able to move using Formation Chits or command points. In the south, my weaker kampfgruppe struggled to push toward
Mook before reinforcements could arrive to slow it down. Again, once it neared the Airborne rear guards, it became yet another drain on my CP's.
Eventually, the Germans surrendered and pulled back to Germany with their armor hammered by AT fire and artillery barrages.
I wasn't able to earn a single dispatch point during the game and without formation activations, it was nearly impossible to advance my forces into combat with the enemy. Am I correct in assuming that the only way to gain dispatch points in the scenario is to roll a "0", roll under your dispatch score, or roll under the number of DP's you currently have?
