New stuff coming and down the road |
Lead | |

Just where we are at right now.... Nick's Bir Hacheim game, No Question of Surrender and my game, Where Eagles Dare, southern half of Market Garden, should
be up for preorder in March '08. After that, David Freidrichs, designer of Hube's Pocket, is getting the first of the three Kursk games. Longer down
the road, I am looking to go to D-Day and Nick is looking at Crete. Subject to preorder interest, I am hoping to have at least one and hopefully two, GTS games
out a year.

Will Bir Hacheim, Kursk, etc. all use the Devil's Cauldron system, or will they use new / other systems?

TDC is the first game in the GTS (Grand tactical series)...so yes, all these games will be with the same system.

Do you ave a rough estimate of size (in terms of maps/space) of these?
|

Let's see - Where Eagles Dare is 4 maps.....No Question of Surrender is 1 map.....Kursk is a 3 game set - each with 3 maps I believe....Crete, Nick has to
answer but I think 3 maps....
D-Day is a 3 game set - Brit beaches 4 maps, Omaha is 6 maps and Utah is 3 maps (although Omaha and Utah share a map)... |

Crete is looking to be 3 maps.

Im surprised but happy that the DDay games are British!
woohoo |

How much approx will W E D be?
about the same as TDC?? |

i haven't finalized the components list yet - doing that this week... After that, MMP has to price it out. It will be in the same ballpark for
sure....maybe a little more, maybe a little less.

Thanks Adam
one more question about future products the british DDay ones, will they be a 3 pack? or 3 seperate games? and if they are seperate, do they connect!! Im sensing I might need a new bigger basement table |
|||
Adam Starkweather |
|||

Three separate games on all of D-Day that connect together...pretty big to play all together...but that would be something to see.... The first game is on the
Brit beaches (all three in one game). Next two are on Omaha and Utah.

Will the British maps include Caen, and will the scenarios include the effort to take Caen? It occurs to me that it would take lots of counters, but you could
get a lot of gaming out of just a few maps.
|

Caen is on the Brit maps....this game (and the two US ones) will cover the first week or so only...max of ten days....

I know its a business issue, but any thought to an expansion that uses the same maps, but adds some scenarios and counters?
|
|||
Adam Starkweather |

Expansion of what? TDC? D-Day? What added situations are you thinking for scenarios? Changing periods (like 1940 on the TDC maps)?

Sorry, using the maps around Caen for some of the later operations in the area (Operation Epsom, Operation Charnwood, Operation Goodwood - depending on the map
area).

Oh, maybe...pretty far down the road for that kind of planning. There is muttering of getting some TDC expansion stuff in the Operations special issue.... If
that is of interest, I can keep you posted.

I always hate suggesting games that I wouldn't be able to design, but I think Kassarine would be outstanding for this system.
"Always with the negative waves, Moriarty. Always with the negative waves." Oddball
"You know, you don't have-a a patron saint for the United States, but there are some American saints. Just the last couple of years they made-a some. The first was-a about-a two years ago. Her name was-a Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton. Mother Seton-is-a what they call her. And she's got-a these nuns of her own order who lobby-they're real heavy-they came to Rome and everything. And it's amazing, you see. To be made a saint in-a the catholic church, you have to have-a four miracles. That's-a the rules, you know. It's-a always been that-a. Four miracles, and-a to prove it. Well, this-a Mother Seton-now they could only prove-a three miracles. But the Pope-he just waved the fourth one. He just waved it! And do you know why? It's-a because she was American. It's all-a politics. We got-a some Italian-a people, they got-a forty, fifty, sixty miracles to their name. They can't-a get in just cause they say there's already too many Italian saints, and this woman comes along with-a three lousy miracles. I understand that-a two of them was-a card tricks." A Few Battles...and .pdf | ||
|
I just got my copy of TDC today. It's very impressive. As soon as I get some other projects finished I am going to dive into it. I have a few questions though. 1. Will there ever be GTS versions of the following battles: Stalingrad
2. Would you consider releasing the GTS Rules of Play in .pdf format? Thanks...MDCragg |

MDCragg wrote: 1. Some of these have been discussed, though not in any great detail yet. Once we have the next few games in the system done, then we'll be looking to move elsewhere. 2. It is being considered, and may happen in the near future. |
