Hi, I have a question on Exclusive rule S5.9 (1st Airborne and 82nd Airborne Division Non-Formation Command).
It first says that "1st Airborne Division Units are considered in command if they are within Command Range of any 1st Airborne Division Leader and not
just their Formation Leader". However, then at the end of that paragraph it says that "..a 1st Airborne Division Unit that is out of its Formation
Leaders command Range (but within the Command Range of another 1st Airborne Division Leader) does not become active when its Formation Activation Chit is
drawn; nor does it become Active if the Formation Activation Chit of the other 1st Airborne Division Leader is drawn."
The wording confuses me a bit. So according to this, a 1st Airborne unit can be in command if within command range of any 1st Airborne Division Leader but is
not activated if the respective formation chit is pulled nor if the other leaders formation activation chit is pulled in the same division.
So does this mean that the unit can not execute any actions if the direct command chit is pulled or any secondary actions if a Divisional Activation Chit is
pulled? But yet, they are still in command because it can trace a command back to any formation leader in its division?
Or, Can they still perform actions because they are considered "in command" if a Direct Command Chit is pulled or perform secondary actions if a
Division Activation Chit is pulled, but cannot perform any actions when the formation chit is pulled because it is not "in command" with its
respective Divisional Formation Leader?
Also, how is this interpreted while executing the current Divisional Formation Action Chit that is currently
in play. If at the time when the Formation Chit was pulled the current unit was "in command" of its proper and respective divisional leader but,
during the course of its movement finds itself out of command but in command to a different formation leader in the same division, can it stil execute a
secondary action?
Can some one help clarify, how this rule is interpreted?
Thanks
